I have been planning to but a new car because in the past few years my old car has been a heavy weight in my premium rate. It is no secret that the durability of the car matters a lot in the eyes of car insurance companies, my old car is proving to be less durable and more prone to damages and repair.

Even if it is hard for me I let go of my car, since I am to purchase I new car anyway I planned to buy a car that has a long wear and tear period. If I can get a car like that, I am not only saving myself from possible repair expenses I am also making myself less risky in the eyes of the insurance company. If I can get a car of such specifications, I am sure to have less premium rate for the same coverage. When I am canvassing for a new car, I am spotting a car in the line of heavy duty and stability. I know that there are no cars more fitting for that than the combination of muscle and elegance- Sports Utility Vehicles or SUVS.

SUVS have been dominating the streets since the 1980s; I am more than willing to purchase a car of this power. Luckily, a friend of mine stopped me from purchasing the car. At first, I did not understand why a SUV owner like himself will stop his best friend from getting the same car, but then he explained to me why. He started by showing me his insurance premium payments which son far have been rocketing up every time he renewed his insurance. He explained to me the downside of purchasing a SUV in relation to car insurance. He explained that the car is too risky in the eyes of insurance companies. I looked it in car insurance comparison websites and found it true.

SUVS are generalized as risky because of these reasons- it is unstable, it has a big blind spot, and it is prone to thievery. Even the most experienced drivers as statistics proved can even tilt a SUV when going in sharp curves. Its big blind spot in the rear, side and front makes it more prone to accident. And lastly, its elegant appearance makes it appealing to thieves. I finally realized that muscle and beauty are not the only factor that can make a car less risky. I am now driving a four seater, and I am happy with its performance and with the premium rate I have to pay for its insurance.
